ABOUT  Dawn is a self taught artist with a passion to hold a paint brush as much as possible. Her work is essentially traditional and she works across the mediums of acrylic, pastel, watercolour and ink. A visit to her studio will enable the visitor to view the results of her creative journey. When not pondering the finer points of composition and perspective, Dawn can be found roaming the ever changing landscape of the outback where she lives and takes her inspiration from. Her studio is a rustic shed behind her house where among the friendly mess of paints and brushes the visitor can see several works in progress as well as completed works for sale. Prints of Dawns work are available from her studio, the Barcaldine Visitor Information Centre and Café Crème Coffee Shop.

Joanne M Taylor | Paper & Mixed Media
A 33 Boree St Barcaldine Qld 4725
ABOUT  I think of my art as a release from everyday life, incorporating the simple things of life with hidden meanings. The use of paper pulp to create the sculpture elements of my works also give the art added meaning in the lightness and frailty of the material elaborates on the concepts around the lightness and frailty of elements of life. I use drawing, add text and colour to the objects and look for the right visual element that will balance the vision. I also incorporate the boxing up of the pieces to create the concept of unveiling the works which incorporates the wonderment of what is around the next corner.
